Hello

All among the Kystfort site, I ve found very interesting view of the FumG 401 Freya LZ’s remains, like in the topic of Tromoy or Dyrland for example

My studies in History and WW2 in particular lead me on the research of the different stellungen in my country; all around Falter above the Rhone Valley, and of course my hobby send me directly on the building in scratch of a Freya in 1.35 scale…

SES of Gyges can prove it (I have several time bother him since 10 years asking some information, encore un grand merci SES!) but original views of details, or only pictures of remains are very scarse on the Net…

I have no hope to find someday the original Anlagen-Handbuch (D.(Luft)T. 4510) of the beast, a lot of point stand for me very aleatorery or assumed…and the worst, I am a “rivet counter”… I cannot build something without the certainty of the real existence of it…

So…If I have a good knowledge of the base of the radar like the four arms, the underside of the cabin, (who is the most common actual remains), I only can guess how was build the cabin and the layouts of the different apparatus and instrument.

My principal problem stay in the mast, and of course all the display of the antenna who stay for me a “terra incognita”, … I ve never found a good view on the differents poles of the IFF for example...

So, if, with the nice day to come, someone can take for me some shots in details of the different wrecks you can find again on your site, it will be a great help for me!

All can be very interesting and welcome in my understanding of the material and to reproduce this lady….

I think also that this radar type stay relatively unknown….the Wurzburg is very well documented in comparison and the compilation of visual information could be the beginning of news questions between us in this board section….

As I work on the model only when I have the real thing identified, this project is very heavy and take his time, and walk like a snail… PDT_Armataz_01_18

Merci beaucoup!

Some illustrations from the "Freya-Fibel", in case you're planning to make the interior of the cabin:

Werner, Natter.....tusen takk!

I am really speechless :-D :D ....it's fabulous, at four day, you have offered me an amazing birthday's present!

The scrappers in France didn't let in the field the 1/100% you can have! The only remains in Falter were the four legs (or arms) of the base, to hold the roof of a barn...and there are the only piece of iron I know in France!

The only "original" document I have is from Karel Gabriel from Pilsen, who sent me the cabel plan extract from the "fibel" I presume. I 've discovered by the way that Skoda maintained the Freya after the war towars the years 1948/49...

Now, I have to show you my work! I note I ve some miss-interpretation of the old documentation I have before....I 've made the interior of the cabin but crossing the reference material between your pictures, SES' ones and in the site of CDV....I am a bit aware... :blee:

In fact, I work on the Kora model but this "thing" is totally undersized and false...then I have to scratch the major components...I don't tell you my wife's comments... :-D :-D :-D

I will have to ask you certainly more information...I am greedy :blee: and please, forgive my skill level in english

MERCI!

Hi!

Thank you for the very nice pictures and information!!!

@werner wernersen
At your picture "Frøya-10-Tromøy.jpg" I saw one of the "bed-plates" of the Freya.
Did you measure this "thing"?
Is it a quadratic or quadrangular?
I think there were two bolts to fix it.
I would like to have its size and the distances between each plate.
Is this possible?

Thanks in advice...
Best wishes
Rolf

Hello

I can confirm you there are 2 bolts on the "bed plate" (right and left when you look at in front of) to fix them in the on a concrete support...

My plans would give a square of 35*35cm for 5cm hight and a distance of 6.20 (centered in the square)when the cross mount is installed

The Fibel is primary covering radar-theory and tactical topics. Very little technical info regarding the sets.

I don't think so (or perhaps from a different edition). I have attached the corresponding illustration from my copy:

Being french, I'm sure you're aware of these books by Alain Chazette, with lot's of photos of german radars (mostly from France):

Bonsoir Natter

I'm still impressed by the high quality of your documentary source!

Alain Chazette is well known by his books and can be often "see" on this forum:

The Kabel plan with his interwoven metal threads, and the antenna in general are the next nightmare for me.... :-D :-D :-D

I will finish the four cross mount in the next days (I hope) and I will start the central "plot" at the begining of the next week.

Thanks to you and Werner, this project would ride at Mach1...
