Google translator isn't too bad on norwegian-english translations: http://translate.google.no/ (just paste the url of the page you want to translate into the box).hein wrote:does anyone has a short summary in english, could not really understand what is written in the other thread.
It was build after 1945 ? it´s norwegian ? found something about a navy base at Rødbergodden ?
any info would be great
Rødbergodden coastal fortress was a norwegian post-WW2 establishment, built in the late 50's if I'm not mistaken (unlike many other of it's kind, it didn't utilize ex-german installations). Just 1km to the south - at the place called Spira, you'll find some remains of the german HKB 21./972 Rödberghamn [4x10,5cm K 331 (f)] though.
Going 10km up north from Rødbergodden, you'll find the closed entrance for the Malangen coastal fortress (torpedobattery). This was the last (and best fortified) norwegian coastal fortress to be established. It was finished in 2001, and laid down a few days after the test-shootings.
